    Karsh Kale

Just wanted to see if they were any Karsh Kale Fans on this forum. He is another great musician from New York that likes to fuse Indian Percussion with Western Beats.

My favorite album of Karsh Kale is Liberation which features amazing fusion between Tabla, Drum And Bass, and Techno. Also featured on the album is an amazing orchestral track that goes straight to my heart and soul.

His other albums are Realize, Broken English, and Breathing Under Water which was a collaboration with Anoushka Shanker .

Yes, I have both Liberation and Breathing Under Water.  He is working on a new album at the moment, so looking forward to that.  Although my shelves are groaning under the weight of CD's.

Sadly I didn't make it down to London to see his recent gig.  A friend of mine did her album launch gig here in Wales on the same day, so I went to that instead.

I didn't make it either. Having no transport, and friends who are not interested in Karsh Kale unfortunately doesn't help. I am hoping that the next time he is around, I can make it to the show .

I wouldn't dream of using anything other than public transport to get to London.

Don't let the fact that your friends don't like the same sort of music put you
off going to gigs you really want to go to.  I decided a couple of years ago that
if it was ok for guys to go to gigs on their own, I could do the same.
I manage to drag friends along to some gigs, but
by no means all. If you haven't got anything to do in the interval, you can
always take a book, or text people from your mobile. Sometimes you can get
chatting to the people sitting near you, or even beforehand in the bar. The only
precautions I take are not to give out personal information and I am always
stone cold sober (but then I am usually driving anyway).  I usually talk about
    music anyway.

Are you on Facebook?  You could consider joining the Asian Underground London
group. It is a good way of getting in touch with people who have similar musical
tastes.  Despite the title of the group, not everyone lives in
    London though.
